UNIQUELY HANDCRAFTED DOLLS, representing The Gullah Geechie Culture.
Born and raised in Mt. Pleasant, SC, Virginia (Genya) Watson observed her mother Ms. Elizabeth Stokes making sweetgrass baskets for many, many years. Although Genya learned this art, she leaned more toward becoming a doll artist. Genya's unique and special gift went from building dolls out of soda bottles, grass, and raggedy old clothes as a child to these beautiful representations of Charleston Gullah Geechie Culture in her adult years. Her hope is that you will enjoy owning one of her dolls and help spread the Gullah Love.
