Subjects range from a lone man on a bicycle to a gutted shark to a group of friends sitting shoulder-to-shoulder on the beach. These seemingly disparate subjects all share a connection to the land. But what exactly is the nature of of these connections? What earthly matters tie Bartlett’s subjects to the land, and where do we, the viewers fit in?
