Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760–1849) mastered painting and printmaking styles and techniques from a vast range of sources, including Ming China (1368–1644), traditional and contemporary Japan, and the West. This four-coaster set celebrates four of the beloved prints in The Metropolitan Museum of Art collection. We have the wood block print, Tama River in Musashi Province, Katsushika Hokusai ca. 1830-1832 also in our permanent collection here at the Gibbes Musuem of Art.
