The artisans featured in the Museum Store frequently create exclusive collections based on the Gibbes’ permanent collection. The results are always so special and truly one-of-a-kind. Our newest vendor in the Museum Store is Heather Freeman of @queenscoastdesigns. Each design is unique and handmade in Charleston, SC.
Pictured is the result of a recent walk through of the museum. Freeman was drawn to a group of 19th century oil paintings by Thomas Coram currently on view in the second floor permanent collection galleries. The dark tones, jewel like landscapes, and gold frames inspired the aesthetic of the surfaces now available in the Museum Store. The surfaces can be used to hold drinks, jewelry, vases, candles, a bottle of wine, or just to sit and look pretty on your table as a stack of art.
